About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To See Every Pieter Bruegel the Elder canvas in person
ABOUT ME
Game designer + songwriter in central Texas.
My mission statement above is correct---I'm currently trying to travel to see every remaining canvas by Flemish master Pieter Bruegel the Elder. There are 48 that I know of remaining, and I have now seen 10 of them in the last two years. I expect to finish the task within the next couple of years, though there is one hiding in a private collection somewhere that's going to be tough to find...
Aside from that, I love traveling, I'm something of an Icelandophile, and I make computer games for a living and write songs in my spare time.
PHILOSOPHY
Talk less, listen more, never stand too still, and don't ever let the music stop.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Only hosted so far...haven't yet tried my hand at surfing, but hopefully will change that next year.
I host people occasionally in Austin, TX, my hometown and the only place I've ever lived. I now actually have a guest room to offer in a North Austin house, though my time for hosting people is fairly limited due to work and other constraints.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted a couple of people now...all very positive experiences and fascinating people, so I'm looking forward to more.
The whole thing started after meeting visiting Belgian musician Steven de Poorter at an open mic in Austin...hosted him, got absolutely blitzed on cheap vodka and sang Townes Van Zandt songs, and decided that the whole Couchsurfing thing was a pretty splendid idea and that I should participate.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took the ferry up to Grimsey Island from Dalvik in Iceland. 5km long island with 100 fishermen living on it...most remote inhabited place I've been in a while. Crossed the Arctic Circle while I was up there.
