About Me

Hello, everyone! I am a young guy who loves traveling and experiencing new things. I grew up in a small farm town in Southern New Jersey, United States. I started to study French while I was in high school, and took some trips to Canada for class. In university, I studied abroad in France for about four months. Now that I have graduated, I am working as an English assistant in French Guiana for French students. Traveling and learning new cultures is something that I have a passion for and want to do as much as possible. When I can, I would love to help others be able to travel as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is absolutely necessary in life. Couchsurfing makes it easier to learn more cultures, history, geography, everything. I want to use Couchsurfing to learn other cultures and be able to share my own culture as well, if you want to listen.

Interests

I like to play video games, board games, card games, go bowling, read, knit, study random topics, and eat. Baking is something I like to do and try to do on a pretty frequent basis. I used to do theatre in university and high school, but have stopped unfortunately due to life getting busier. Still, any chance to go to local theaters is usually something I'll do!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a lot of musical soundtracks, and will occasionally sing them as well. I like drama and comedy movies more than action movies. Horror movies are some of my favorites, too, although I get scared pretty easily. I prefer to read satirical material, or fantasy of some sort. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett is one of my favorites. I also love the Harry Potter series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I became conversational in Portuguese in about 4 months because my brother was getting married to a Brazilian woman and I had to be a translator for my parents. It went very well, surprisingly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think that continuing to learn throughout life is a must, even when you are done school. I would love for others to be able to teach me about their culture, if they are willing. Even just small things. If I am hosting you, do not feel pressured to come with a powerpoint presentation or anything. A small discussion would be all I need.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My culture and experiences around the world. I'd love to be able to exchange stories with you.
