Hello peoples, I'm Willem from the Netherlands and I'm in Canada for the current month, of which some time I'll be spending in the city of Vancouver. The past half year I lived in Krakow, Poland where I fell in love with the vibrant jamming scene there and in general the way I felt open to express myself freely in some really humble environments.

I've heard Vancouver expands upon this way of living with the many possibilities that are offered, and I very much hope to experience this here. Perhaps I'll need a bit of guidance to be pointed in the right directions but I'm sure I'll meet people on my way to help me out.

In terms of music, I've got some flutes with me and I just bought my first djembe here (I started learning back in Krakow for some months) and I also have some analog synthesizers back at home. I also play digderidoo and a bit of guitar but the latter I haven't practised so much the last years. You might noticed the world sound is quite what I like, along with my passion for vintage electronic stuff.

Outside of music, I like to be active on the rocks with climbing and stuff, and I'm trying to be more acrobatic too though it's a long way still. At least I know some underdeveloped muscles I should train. Acro yoga can be really fun when my hamstrings are a bit warmed up! Furthermore, I LOVE the wild (backcountry) nature that Canada offers, and I'll be sure to immerse myself for a good time while I'm in the country. I also like to make field recordings in nature which is a very fresh hobby for me.

PS: It's the first time I'm trying this couchsurfing thing, heard good experiences from close ones so I'm giving it a shot. I'll be sending messages asking for a single night perhaps, though note that I don't want it to come across like I just want to use your space! I'm a bit timid in invading personal spaces so I wouldn't like to offer to stay for an indeterminate time, though I don't have a date to leave Vancouver yet (I don't really plan ahead). I'll be very much up if you want me around for a bit longer and we can connect and create some beautiful moments!
