About Me

I'm from Wellington, New Zealand, growing up there and calling it my home until January this year when I moved to Oxford to study for my PhD in Marine Conservation. I'm trying to come up with innovative solutions to minimise the number of protected species that get caught in fisheries, especially in developing countries. It is fun.. it is interesting... it is the times...

I've got the wanderlust bad. I have been fortunate to do a bunch of travel already and I am always planning new trips. But this is the first time that I have lived overseas. There are many places I want to see and explore, so I am looking forward to getting out there and doing just that!

I love my friends so much and I love making more friends! I also like to laugh. Quite a lot.

PHILOSOPHY
Try everything once I say. Oh and, the trio of good food, good drink and good company is pretty excellent. Not really a philosophy though...

Music, Movies, and Books

So much music, all the time. When I was running in the park in Oxford, I saw Thom Yorke there also running. He looked me straight in the eyes and I felt a bond with him that I don't think will ever be broken.

Favourite movies are also too many to list, but to give you some idea: Blade Runner, GATACA, Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, Star Wars (everyone knows the Empire Strikes Back tops the list), Spirited Away (plus all the Ghibli), American History X, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... you get the idea...

I'm currently reading Orwell's Down and Out in Paris and London, it's tops.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once threw a kettle over a pub, what have you ever done?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Tea or cofee, or both?! I would love to show off my cooking skills. Brunch is a pretty excellent meal, I do that one well. Get all up in the avacado smash. Plus I can wrangle up a tasty dinner as well!

I usually turn up with a bottle of wine under the arm, so yeah, we can drink that if you like.
