About Me
Salutations! My name is William but I go by my middle name Neale. I'm a cis straight/questioning male (pronouns: he/him), living in the Philadelphia suburbs. I recently bought a house here and I have lots of room to host folks who are either passing through or looking for fun in Philly. My neighborhood is quiet, I have amazing neighbors, and one ornery old man of a cat who LOVES people and can't wait to sit on your lap (but if cats aren't your thing that's cool too!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting new people, and hearing about their experiences enriches my life as well. Couchsurfing has been a great way to connect with people in the past and I'm excited to be active on here again. As I'm very lucky to have my own home and be living by myself, I want to extend a hand to those folks who might find staying in an Airbnb or hotel to be a bit of a strain on the wallet.
One caveat...I brook no tolerance for those people who do not support Black Lives Matter, LGBTQA+ rights, a woman's right to bodily autonomy, and other human rights. If you are against any of these ideals, please find someone else to stay with.
Interests

Music, Movies, and Books
Music - pretty much anything but country
Movies - anything but romantic comedies (but I make an exception for It Happened One Night)
Books - history, fantasy, reference, trivia, comics...too many to list!
Why do these lists never include video games??? I am a lifelong gamer and would love to watch or play games with someone with the same passion. I currently have a gaming PC, PS5, PS3, Switch, and a mini SNES.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught myself how to drive stick. Back in 2013 I decided to buy a Mini Cooper (my dream car) and I really wanted manual transmission. Having only had one hour's worth of "training" from the dealership two months prior, I bought the car and rolled off the lot barely remembering what to do. It took me 3 weeks before I was no longer terrified of getting in my car! Now I love it, I would never go back to driving automatic.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hm, this is a bit of a general category...I can certainly give baking lessons, maybe massage lessons as well (I stopped professionally massaging in 2019 but I still have the skills!) I'd love to hear stories from my guests, funny or serious.
