Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

Love the concept of couchsurfing and think it's a great way to get in touch with locals whenever I travel, or getting a much needed influence of culture and language when I don't have time to travel myself. As most users here, I too love to meet new people :) I really don't think it's possible to put a price on the experiences I've had around the world. My first trip to Brazil resulted in quite a bit of couchsurfing, even if I didn't plan for it, and I was hoping to return the favor some time. I happen to have a couch in my room, so just poke me and I will see what I can do!

Centres d'intérêt

My passion is definitely music, even if I enjoy it more as a listener than an architect :P My favorite genres are rock and certain types of metal, but I can usually listen to anything that has some though put into the lyrics. Also spent quite some time on concerts and festivals over the years, where Graspop Metal Meeting in Belgium is the favorite so far!

I travel quite a bit when I have time and money :D And not just because it gets quite cold up here and the beer is expensive, but every time I go somewhere new I get a whole new perspective of me, the world and everything I value in life (or aren't appreciating enough)! I believe I become a better person for every experience, and I want to continue with that.

Other than that, I guess computers are somewhat of an interest as well as movies/series... NOT a sports fan so don't ask me what "offside" is cause I never figured that s**t out

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Music: Fairly open-minded here, but some bands that will always have a special place in my heart would be Shinedown, In Flames, Soilwork, Rise Against among others. I can add that I'm pretty meticulous about my playlists, and I'm definitely the guy that has a playlist for every occasion, setting or mood ;)

Movies: Fight Club, V for Vendetta, Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Dark Knight, The Intouchables, Chaos, and I laughed really hard during Guardians of the Galaxy as well so I suppose I'll bring it up as an "honorable mention".

I have spent quite a bit of time exploring the concept of "happiness" in a philosophic way, especially when I've gone through s**t in my life, and think I have a pretty good understanding of what it takes. Just beware, if you get me going on this topic I can go on all night.

I'd be happy to share any insights or experiences I've had in my time, and/or answer any questions you might have about me or my country or culture :D Other than that I'm tidy, quiet, polite and will do my best to help with housekeeping etc. to make sure having me there isn't gonna be a disadvantage.
