About Me

I’m currently based in Brazil (Salvador and Macapá), Argentina (Bariloche and Buenos Aires), and Portugal (Évora).
My main home is in Salvador, Brazil.

I love languages, meeting new people, and having good conversations. I also enjoy traveling and exploring new places. I’m a university professor and researcher in the field of linguistics, working at a Federal University in Brazil.

I’ve lived in several Brazilian states, including Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, São Paulo, and Roraima.
So far, I’ve visited 32 countries — and I’m just getting started (119 more to go!).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To have more fun while traveling by staying with locals, spending less on accommodation, and making new friends from different cultures. It’s a great way to understand local customs and create real connections with people around the world.

Interests

I wanna learn French, Dutch, ASL, Argentinian Sign Language, Arabic, Russian, Chinese and Swahili. I love languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love most kinds of music. When I wake up, I put on my earphones, and I usually go to sleep watching a TV series. I like Brazilian Popular Music, Brazilian Funk, Pop, Rock, and Reggaeton.

The books I read are usually related to my work, but I also enjoy reading about politics, religion, and psychology — even though, at the moment, I really need to focus on linguistics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Learning Sign Language, studying for a Ph.D., visited Japan

Teach, Learn, Share

We can talk about languages or whatever comes up. I’m happy to share my place, chill with a cold beer and some food, and laugh about funny (and maybe a bit crazy) travel stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my culture, a bit of my language, my stories and experiences, my home, and help you get to know the city and find your way around. Oh… and maybe we can go for a coffee, juice, beer, tea, or even some chocolate.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, French Guiana, Germany, Guyana, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Kosovo, Macedonia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City State, Venezuela
