I am student at the University of Waterloo on exchange in Lyon, France for a whole year. I enjoy getting involved and I tend to end up talking about pretty much everything. I will confess that I will be far too glad once the American election cycle has passed. I find learning about new places and cultures rewarding, but I don't like being a mainstream tourist. So I am always torn when I go to new places: I don't want to make it worse by being there, but I want to learn. I am a friendly guy and I love getting to know new people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I enjoy travelling, and I am student. Even though I haven't much money, the places that cost a lot are usually the touristy places, so not worth too much of my time. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to meet genuine people and have genuine experiences.

Interests

I love reading. I recently rediscovered this passion and started collecting books and now I enjoy finding interesting ways to reorganize them. I also enjoy reading about current events. I love Music and will listen to just about anything, but particularly live shows. Most recently I have been to organ recitals, live jazz in a basement, and sweet house shows.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an incredibly wide range of interests when it comes to these. I read very widely, I listen to most music, and I have watched a lot of movies. I think I surprise myself that I have both a collections of Bach's organ music next to Daft Punk. That being said, live music always trumps recordings.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a road trip to California. On the way, we spent 30 hours driving from outside detroit to Denver Colorado. During the night travelling through Kansas we experienced three different thunderstorms, and rain so heavy we couldn't go faster than a walking speed.
