Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to positively influence as many people as possible, whether I do this purposefully or on accident
ABOUT ME
I work in the woods over half of my life, sleeping under a tarp and hanging out next to a campfire, and tango dance in dance halls the rest of the time.
I make sure I get movie watching, travelling, reading and doing yoga in there when I can. I love to craft things and ride my bike, shop at farmers' markets and drink tea.
I've been described jokingly as a hippie by my boss, a gypsy by the kids I work with, and I think there are aspects of those identities that are true of me, but or course not all of them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have surfed with many amazing people, and would love to host many more! Come to Salt Lake, all you beautiful people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had the pleasure of staying with wonderful folks in Salt Lake when I first moved here and had zero money, they helped me out immensely. I live with another couchsurfer, and I spent New Year's 2009 with couchsurfers!

Music, Movies, and Books
Ursula K LeGuin, Octavia Butler, Margaret Atwood to name three authors.
as for music, I love most music that is produced with heart, with good intention and or genuine feeling (even if its painful, especially if its bittersweet), and with a good beat. Anything else is just empty wavelength taking up my ear and brain space.
same for movies...I enjoy the ones that really reach out and grab the soft human core, and wrench it just a little or make it laugh. for example, "the Diving Bell and the Butterfly". "the royal tenenbaums". "paris je t'aime". many many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled to Ghana and I met the most amazing people there! My voyage was part of a study abroad trip and seeing a completely different culture changed the way that I thought about many things in my life. Africa is a wild and magical place, and has a flavor unlike the US. Even the air is different. Five years and many voyages later, I still recollect many lessons from this time in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
yoga, meditation, chanting, dance (salsa, tango, ballet, contemporary), English, French, singing, crafting (paper crafts and crochet), open-minded-ness, biology, cooking, baking...and many more! I love to teach things and I love to talk about all of these subjects, as well as a host of many others that I want to learn about.
