About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See the world!

ABOUT ME

I can make friends with almost anybody, I enjoy stimulating conversation about anything from the arts to football (soccer, I'm not too clued up on the American kind, though I'm willing to be taught). Music is another great passion of mine, and I will always try to introduce friends to some of the artists I love (don't worry I'm not a Bieberphile, but I love all genres from Punk to Jazz).

I am about to embark on a year long, round-the-world trip on 3rd July 2012. Having looked at some hostel prices in major cities such as New York and Boston, I hope this site will not only provide me with slightly cheaper accommodation, but also with the opportunity to meet interesting locals who can point me in the right directions and hopefully show me a good time while I'm on their turf. All the cities I plan to visit are listed in my 'Places I'd Like to Visit' section.

PHILOSOPHY

The more you see, and the more people you meet, the more you will learn. I never want to stop learning things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I will be surfing for a year as opposed to hosting, but once I'm back in England with a place of my own, a sofa will be up for grabs!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a natural at sleeping on couches, I sleep where I fall at most parties I've been to! I've slept on and in worse things than couches I can assure you; bathtubs, phone-boxes, a greenhouse and a portaloo to name but a few!

Interests

Music, football, literature, cinema and friends. I spend my time trying to combine as many of these as is humanly possible.

If it sounds good, I like it.

I love literature, especially modernism. I read English at university in Bristol.

There's not enough time for me to list even the genres of film I enjoy watching. From New Wave French cinema to Hollywood Blockbusters, every style has its redeeming features. I also studied film briefly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am hoping to use my round-the-world trip to increase the size of this list, but prior to embarking on that journey, I will say travelling through Morocco with a local and seeing a world completely alien to me; Chelsea winning the Champions League final and seeing Blur at Glastonbury '09.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can play guitar (I'm no Hendrix I'm afraid, I'm barely Joe Strummer!) and sing.
