Quick update on the below: 37 year old living in Rotterdam, Netherlands! Currently planning a cycling trip to Oman.

34 yr old Dutch. Lived in London for the last 9 years and now gone traveling for a while. Nepal, Thailand/Cambodia, Australia and New Zealand. Perhaps I'll continue afterwards and try to do freelance work while away...or back to the Netherlands. For now I'm focussing on photography and hoping to get some good inspiration for projects on the way.

Nada, niks, nothing – in terms of couch surfing experience so far :)

Houseshares over the last years in London weren't great for accepting guests other than known friends. Hopefully will get my own flat at some point and will be able to welcome guests.

The whole idea of it attracts me rather than the hostel experience.

Graphic Design, photography and art in general. People and places, the ordinary...just getting out there and aimlessly going around, observing the world and the ordinary which is never ordinary. But also the beauty of beaches and mountains and large wide open spaces.

I cycle a lot, swim a lot, walk a lot. Drink beer & wine, love the sunshine more than rain. Trekking/hiking, camping. Thinking where I can go in Australia for a good multi day trek.

Quite eclectic. Nils Frahm, Badbadnotgood, Hauschka, Eefje de Visser and that's just a few I think of right now.

Been enjoying quite a lot of Murakami and Paul Auster's novels are great for holidays. Just finished 'De donkere kamer van Damokles', a Dutch war-novel and swapped it for 'Into the wild' :)

Often visit an arthouse cinema. I love good cinematography, subtitles are very welcomed (although English is absolutely fine) and an end of a story really don't need to exist. Haven't been for a while now although watched Hangover 2 or 3 on a roadside rest area and it was fun enough for that moment.

Just one? Fairly recent ---> Trekking the Annapurna circuit in Nepal. It's just amazing to get right into the huge mountain region at heights over 5000 meter with the most amazing views changing every day. And that all just on two feet. Nothing else needed to make things possible.

Another recent idea to rent a bike one-way from Phnom Penh to Battambang in Cambodia turned out being a great one. 300km in dust and perhaps not the greatest scenery but you actually see the country and the people how they are. Not how they act to tourists. The same applies to couchsurfing I tink...I hope :)
