About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To visit strange new lands and host travelers from abroad.

ABOUT ME

Hello, my name is Wilson. I am new to Couch Surfing, but very interested in traveling and meeting people in other countries.

I am not a very social being, but I love to have stimulating conversations, debates and civilized arguments on just about any topic handy. My friends tell me that I'm the "king of useless knowledge". Unlike the stereotypical American, I am a socialist liberal in politics. I have worked mainly in restaurants, managing and owning several. Now that I am unemployed, I would like to travel and learn more.

PHILOSOPHY

The Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto yourself.

Liberal socialistic leaning in politics.

Interests

I am a voracious reader, currently science fiction, historical fiction and classic Roman history. I am fascinated with history and experiences thereof, computers, hiking, backpacking, cooking and good food, playing with my year old nephew, reading political blogs, good movies and lounging about with absolutely nothing to do.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am currently reading classic Roman history, Herodotus, Livius, Tacitus and Polybius. I enjoy reading anything really. Current fiction book, for the third time, Foucault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fell off a cliff at Linville Gorge, NC approximately 75 feet, pretty damn awestruck with that. Visted most of the Revolutionary and Eastern Civil War battlefields, Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Tijuana, Mexico pre-drug war era was awesome. Lots of stories, lots of experiences...

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach restaurant 101 through maybe Masters level. 28 years experience, both management and owning two restaurants.

Would enjoy learning anything and everything.
