ABOUT ME

45 year old teenager, have been described a peter pan, usually by the people who want me to grow up ... never gonna happen!. Divorced with two wonderful children who live with their mother, I now live alone.
Have now got the travel bug, when it's not active I like to socialize with a drink or when i'm feeling energetic, a game of golf.
Now on the road again for as long as the money holds out, sold my business at Christmas and don't want to think about the next job until i get home....

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have joined this site on a recommendation from a travel friend who was aiming to use it in India, not sure that she did though. Got verified when I returned from my travels, have hosted for a few weeks now and all the people that have stayed have been great, it's nice to think that you are helping someone that felt the same way I did when I was away!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None before getting verified other than giving a bed to an Australian gap student who was kicked out of the school he was working at with 5 months of his trip left, felt sorry for him so he worked a bit to pay for the bed - Nice chap! We still keep in touch. Have hosted a few times now and other than having to work the whole time they are here, have found it an enjoyable experience.

Trying to widen my horizons with books, usually read crime thrillers, mysteries etc (the usual holiday books) Picked up a few great reads whilst away in India and continue to read either fiction or the odd factual book on different countries

Enjoyed picking up the odd phrase from each place I visited, also fascinated by the cultural differences between people and places. I will try to be as welcoming to others as people have been to me
