CURRENT MISSION

Yeah! School's OUT! I can accept surfers up until the 12th of July, then I'm headed to the West Coast for the Drum Camp in Humboldt CA. I'll go through Portland, and won't be back until about August 4th!

ABOUT ME

Born in TN. Moved to Colorado in 1984 and stayed in Boulder CO ever since. Got my teaching certification and began teaching. I still love it! Get the summers off, and like to do road trips to the West Coast.
I play Afro-Cuban music and love to learn and play with other folks that like the same music.

I'm really intense, but kind and generous.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel that we're all the same since no-one gets out of this life alive. So, I have a great deal of compassion for everyone. I like to let things happen with minimal interference. I use this Taoistic approach in everyday life, even in the classroom.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd love having people stay here for short periods of time. I'm especially interested in hosting traveling musicians, and of course, I would love to be able to travel and receive the same treatment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've got several friends who let me stay in their places and tent camp in Portland, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City. That's along my annual West Coast path. They're good friends, but it's also good to have some more options..

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all genres of movies, and Science oriented books and magazines. I used to read Sci Fi mostly for fun, but now I meditate instead of pleasure reading.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I've seen is Pedrito Martinez play advanced bata rhythms on congas while holding a perfectly still clave with his foot. Also his singing is outstanding!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help people get past their hang-ups to some extent. I can help people become motivated to become meditation practitioners. I can teach rhythm and song to a small degree.
