I am nearly always an optimistic person and i manage to make people feel good or bring 'life' to a group of people. I'm a free thinker. I believe there is an essence & energy in all things.
I see life as a gift every day, and savour the good moments the day brings.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like meeting a broad range of interesting people from all over the world. Therefore, i'm available to give a tour around the city, to have a drink, tell stories, have a laugh and possibly to provide lodgings. Also, i like cooking so i can fix a decent meal for whomever's coming over.

Music: Listening to 'alternative' music and playing guitar myself. (currently in a poetry-music band)

Arts: Performing, visual,... I like it all! I like painting with a combination of encaustics (coloured wax) and acrylic paint. I'll make one for you.

I also like reading books as well as graphic novels (comics). I don't like watching TV (don't have one), but i rather like real company and get-togethers.
I also like travelling and experiencing other cultures (of course).

Music: Let's see...i'll take a random pick out of my iTunes; Devendra Banhart, Frank Zappa, Vetiver, Akron/Family, Django Reinhardt, Grateful Dead, Castanets, Sun City Girls, Richard Bishop, Sigur Ros, Cocorosie, Magik markers, Sonic Youth, Tom Waits, Six Organs of Admittance, Kevin Ayers, the B-52s, John Zorn, Marissa Nadler (fav female singer), Cat Stevens, Ali Farka Touré... And many more! How's that for ecclecticism?

Movies/TV: too much to name really...the godfather's one of the best. La Meglio Gioventú. Star Wars. Carnivale (one of the best series ever). Experimental Film. Anyhting by Woody Allen.

Books: Neil Gaiman's my fav writer. Umberto Eco. Terry Pratchett. DBC Pierre. Salman Rushdie. ... Anything with good realism and added bits of wackyness.

Travelled a lot, even as a child. SO i have done lots of amazing things; ask me about it!

I can share extensive knowledge on:
medieval & celtic history, esoteric history (really!), comic books & graphic novels, music (can teach music theory & guitar), intercultural contacts, life experience. I'm also a good listener. I have a good thinking mind but am not so much of a practical problem solver (although i have my moments).
