About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to *really* live

ABOUT ME

I am just a guy who likes to do stuff. I'm a fan of unbridled enthusiasm and I have lots of it for lots of things.

I love dancing, music, shiny things, pretty things, new things, being told "no you can't!" and then proving someone wrong, and places that are just superbly designed.

PHILOSOPHY

Guidelines:

Keep the peace with my parents.

Treat everyone as though we're are already friends

Make believe I'm in a (good) movie.

Participate in new/interesting activities whenever possible.

Never stop learning

Everything in moderation, including moderation

Shop around

Listen to other people

Carry a swiss army knife at all times (except airports...) (after breaking the "airport clause" I have switched to a Leatherman. It's very nice.)

Don't wait for the next opportunity, take this one

Tap my primal forces

Make mind and body a team

Remember that I'm alive, not a robot, and cherish every bit of humanity, including the negative parts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, showing up at meetups and being awesome. Introducing new folks, singing karaoke so raw it makes people in the audience bleed.

At this point I've hosted in excess of 80 people. It's hard to update all the time and keep the list going, so if you wonder who they are, check the references and friend list :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have surfed a few couches by now on my motorcycle trip and other travels. Its been wonderful.

Hosting people is a lot of fun. I especially enjoy hosting a lot of people who are all going to the same music fest as me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I saw ducks mating under a willow tree from 3 meters!

I started a recycling program at my workplace

I dismantled a cell phone and replaced the LCD screen! (pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/wired1000/HowToRebuildSamsungU600CellPhoneInstructions#) Then I made the experience available to others who don't want to shell out $200 for a new phone

I quit my job and everything, packed up my motorcycle, and left

Teach, Learn, Share

This is how you can high five and never miss! Just look at the other person's elbow! seriously... try it.

I have a lot of random, odd, skills, tips and tricks.

And I can take you for a motorcycle ride
