CURRENT MISSION: Planning the next adventure
At the end of 2012, I was in a social rut: I was immensely shy, really lonely & I'd been living in a city I thought I knew for 3 years (Melbourne) and had never seen most of it. One day I decided to rejoin the CS community (after a brief exposure to CS in early 2010 when I was still a hermit crab deep in her shell) because "why the hell not?" and to date it was the best decision I ever made! :)
One thing you should know about me first off: I'M CRAZY ABOUT FOOD. I want to eat everything when I travel! On this past trip to Europe i've been introduced to so many new dishes than I could have ever imagined and there's only more I can discover and more I can eat! :D I especially appreciate meeting like-minded foodies!
I've been told i'm the best companion for an epic meal, long chats over a cup of coffee, or grabbing a pint or two, but then i've also been told that I get distracted easily, swear too much for a girl & am super forgetful ... but nobody's perfect aren't they? ;)
"Dude, where's my car?"
"Never give up, it's such a wonderful life."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm always out and about in weekly CS gatherings... and have hosted and surfed in the past!
CS has given me life-long friends in a city where I would have felt very alone otherwise. It has taught me how to be open to other nationalities and different people from different nations- something I wouldn't have learnt otherwise from my very closed-minded traditional upbringing (looooong story, i'm really nice, promise), and that is invaluable to me.
It has also taught me to be wary of who I trust, and that not everybody is who they say they are. On the other hand, it has also taught me that everybody has a story to tell, and not make judgements until you give them a chance.
Some of the most memorable events i've been to
- celebrated New Year's day 2010 in the heart of Kuala Lumpur in KL with surfers
- CS Melbourne CouchCrash Graffiti party
- Capture the Flag by moonlight
- cheap ice cream parties @ Vic Mart
- Future Music Festival 2013
- CS aperitivo meetup in Rome
- Going on a MASSIVE food tour in Berlin with a friend id just made two days before off CS

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- it took me long enough but it finally made me realize that the only person responsible for my own happiness is myself. and yes. you can choose to be happy.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I could teach you how to cook Malaysian food ... or some basic yoga moves & how to do a barrel roll!
Learn: I'd love to learn another language. Also how to cook all different kinds of foods :p ... and how to whistle - I also want to learn how to improve my dismal French that i'm trying not to fail in Uni - UPDATE: I didn't fail, but my French is still shit :'(
Share: I could impart my wisdom on how to successfully navigate against the flow of Melbourne commuters wielding umbrellas at rush hour, if you'd like, but then you would also require a) a bigger umbrella or b) ninja skills, or c) an AFL ruckman/quarterback friend who also happens to be 200-pounds of muscle...
