About Me

In 2010 years ago, I left my hometown of Kuala Lumpur for a university stint in Melbourne and never looked back. Moving to Melbourne changed my life. I used to be a hermit crab, but now this hermit is out of her shell having a party! I've since travelled to Europe, Thailand, and other parts of Australia, and i'm hungry for more.

I'm writing my thesis at the moment, but in my free time i'm an aspiring yogini, fitness instructor and full-time coffee addict. I can be found wandering a random suburb, probably patrolling the various food markets Melbourne has to offer!

I've been told i'm the best companion for an epic meal, long chats over a cup of coffee, or grabbing a pint or two, but then i've also been told that I get distracted easily, swear too much for a girl (and to that I say fuck that!) & am super forgetful ... but nobody's perfect aren't they? ;)

Otherwise I spend my days being the best person I can be. As they say, never give up, it's a wonderful life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

CS has given me life-long friends in a city where I would have felt very alone otherwise. It has taught me how to be open to other nationalities and different people from different nations- something I wouldn't have learnt otherwise from my rather sheltered upbringing, and that is invaluable to me.

It has also taught me to be wary of who I trust, and that not everybody is who they say they are. On the other hand, it has also taught me that everybody has a story to tell, and not make judgements until you give them a chance.

Most importantly it has given me the courage to travel by myself as a woman, and knowing that I am not alone as I will meet people along the way!

Some of the most memorable events i've been to

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I could teach you how to cook Malaysian food!

Learn: French, because my French is still pretty merde. And your favourite recipe, please and thank you!

Share: I could impart my wisdom on how to successfully navigate against the flow of Melbourne commuters wielding umbrellas at rush hour, if you'd like, but then you would also require a) a bigger umbrella or b) ninja skills, or c) an AFL ruckman/quarterback friend who also happens to be 200-pounds of muscle...

What I Can Share with Hosts

An insight into Malaysian culture, as well as sharing my love of food and dance and music. And wine and beer. Of course.
