I LOVE (making fun of) tourist attractions. I generally act like a child and destroy the culture while doing so. It's more fun that way.

I like sneaking past guards and finding my own path to discovery. I've been told that Americans always get people into trouble....

I hate having to take short vacations or pass through a city. I'd prefer to be able to sit at a cafe all day and enjoy the place without feeling like I'm missing the "must sees." And it seems like my must see list is always better.

I sell homes to lovely people so I work very flexibly from home and seem to be on call 24/7.

I spend a lot of time volunteering at the opera introducing 21-39 year olds my favorite art form. I Chair the Board of Directors, it's a busy role.

My boyfriend is in Afghanistan. That sucks.

In the summer, we sail a lot and bike around the lakes and drink lots of beer and even more tequila. In the winter....we survive on wine or whiskey and stay as warm as we can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Just got formally started, though I've spend plenty of time on couches....plus I love having guests and showing people around. I'm a pretty tour-guidey sort of guy. Even if I just get to meet a connection in my city or someone else's for a beer or for lunch, it's great meeting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't currently live in a very tourist oriented city - but my couch has been occupied by friends and friends of friends....which is how I usually stay in other places as well.

Taking people around to the sites, to the best new bar, on a long long walk, to a performance - I love getting to know a new person even if it's just for a day. I know I'll meet them again....I always do.

I climbed Mt. Sinai in the middle of the night to watch sunrise. That was rad even if we were all a bit delirious.
