Travel outside of New York City more often while attending college

ABOUT ME

I'm a 19 year-old Industrial Design student at Pratt institute. I love making and fixing things, rock climbing, bicycling, cooking, and traveling. I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with going to school in NYC. The accessibility of everything by bicycle and mass transit is awesome, and the fact that so much is available is very nice too. I do miss the more open spaces of Maryland where I grew up though. I try and get a little bit upstate of the city a few times a year for some wonderful hiking, but it can be a little bit tricky.

In regards to traveling, I grew up traveling all the time. My father's side of the family would take trips at least every other year to Norway, Portugal, Vancouver, etc. This, I believe, is really what jump-started my love of traveling. My immediate family would also sometimes do some little traveling by car up and down the east coast. Of late though, because my grandparents have gotten older, we haven't been able to take such international trips. I do miss it quite a bit and would like to start to take similar (albeit probably smaller scale at first) trips myself.

PHILOSOPHY

I place a great deal of value in logical reasoning and calm in unpredictable situations. I like to try and keep my mind clear when things are not exactly as I expected them.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I took at trip to Montenegro (small country next to Croatia) in 2008. It was primarily a day hiking and rafting trip, but it had some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Really really phenomenal country.
