Hello!

My name is Kerttu and I am form Estonia, a small country located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, south of Finland :)
I am a traveller and an explorer. I travel as much as I can via youth excanges, different projects, hitchhiking etc. I love adventures, learning new skills and knowledge. My dream is to visit all the countries in the world.

Right now I am travelling in the USA.

I like to read books and poetry, I also write poetry myself. You can find my poetry: www.rttukmets.tumblr.com, but it is still all in Estonian :) I am interested in linguistics and different languages, I would love to learn all of the languages in the world. I speak Estonian as mother tongue, English fluently, a little bit of Swedish and Russian.

Right now I am on a journey to find myself and my purpose - who I am and what I really want to do with my life. After high school I went to university to study youth work, I took a break form uni at the beginning of this year and by now I have decided that it is not my true calling. I would live to spend my life helping people and making the world a better place, but I haven't yet found my way of doing it. Basically I have quit everything to travel the world and find myself :)

I like hiking and spending time in nature, there I feel at home. At uni I specialised on outdoor activities and experiental learning. I believe that "learning by doing" method is the most efficient for learning new skills or studying oneself. I like archery, mountain climbing and kayaking and would love to practice them more. I like dancing and experssing myself through motion, words and pictures/art. I have been a part of an acting group, also have done some declamation. I would love to learn more about yoga and meditation.

Through years I have been doing a lot of voluntary work for different organisations and festivals. One might say that voluntary work is my hoby and passion :)
Right now I am an activist in an Estonian animal rights organisation called Loomade Nimel, I have been in charge of creating vegan dinners in my university town (Viljandi) to introduce plant-based diet to people. I have also been a chef in a vegan cafe, so if you need some help at the kitchen and you like vegan food, I will not let you down ;)

I believe that if people concentrated more on their spiritual growth, finding peace from within and really connecting to themselves, the Earth and other people the world would be a better place. I do believe that we are all connected in a deeper way of being. Everything happens for a reason, we are here to learn, grow and open our hearts to love. Trust the journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because there are so many different people in the word. I believe that we all have some thing to teach to eachother and to learn from eachother. Why should I book a room in a hotel if I can meet locals and learn about the language and the culture directly from real people. It is alway fun to meet new people and share experiences.

Interests

I am interested in Life - how to live the best life for me and the planet. That's why I am interested in veganism and sustainable living.
I like to do people watching and in such way gather inspiration for my poems. Even only by looking at human beings we can learn so much about them and even more about ourselves.
I like to be active and spend as much time outside as possible. I like hiking, dancing, kayaking, travelling, etc.
