ABOUT ME

I am a 31 year old spoken word artist, all around poet/actor who tends to frequent the Commercial Drive Area. My life is very much about the people in it, and the depth of shared experience. I am the opposite of 9 to 5...anti-corporate...I suppose a bit of a socialist at heart...damn how this system has been misused in the past.

PHILOSOPHY

I am very much a live and let live person. I live my life in a spirit of sharing who I am and getting to know who people are. As much as humanly possible...materialism is completely unimportant to me. I am more interested in making deep, meaningful connections with people. Superficialities are an annoyance to be tolerated, not something I am interested in.

I haven't. I just heard about this website recently. I am open in anyway that i can participate...given that my current address is not set, rather in a state of constant flux.

Strictly a couchsurfing virgin. I do have couchsurfer friends however.

兴趣

Books, strolls on Commercial Drive, theatre, watching and performing. Poetry, reading, writing, performing, people (hanging out with quality people and participating in whatever thy are interested in) So much of the quality of experience is not the activity you participate in, rather the people you spend time with.

Almost any music. Recently...Gregory and the Hawks has found a place in my heart. I like most books, favourite authors to name a few are Tom Robbins, Wilbur Smith, John Kennedy Toole, Terry Goodkind, Terry Pratchett, Terry Brooks, Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams, Paulo Coelho, Robert Jordan. These are a few of many. Favourite books off the top of my head, White Oleander. A Confederacy of Dunces, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, American Gods, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy the complete set). Way too many. Where do I start with Movies? WALL-E, Dirty pretty Things, The Boy Who Could Fly, Amelie, 300, Sin City, Grindhouse. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Titus, Magnolia, The Dark Knight, plenty of foreign films, the original Spiderman Movie. A mix of deeper insight, escapist fantasy...and comedy. Did I mention Ace Ventura Pet Detective? My all time favourite. Must haved seen this one about 100 times.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Aurora borealis is spectacular. Off in the background against the night sky. So many amazing things...in general..really intense conversations in the early morning hours...over candlelight. Enjoying, confiding, crying, laughing with friends. Random conversations with strangers which sometimes lead to all night wandering. So often the simplest things are the most amazing, as well as the least appreciated and most overlooked.

Hmmm..I love language. I would be able to help with proofreading, possible english tutoring, and I love to talk about Greek and Norse myths. As faras sharing, anything that involves laughter, or a general exchange of ideas.

I would love to learn how to play the guitar. Particularly acoustic. Furthermore, I am interested in getting together with musicians, and putting my spoken word poetry to music. Something I have recently started exploring with.
