CURRENT MISSION

I like to be on the move and experience different cultures while doing so. At the moment I´m in South America, which also gives me a chance to improve my wee Spanish abilities. I love to cook, so I am also looking to be inspired by the people I encounter

I am an easy going and friendly guy, always ready to help out when needed. I love to be on the road, travel and experience new things. I come from a family of artists, hence I myself inherited some creativity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As I don't really have a home anywhere at the moment (since I'm travelling), I am using CS to find people that will host me, and meet up. When I at some point in the future gets settled, I will 'pay it back' by hosting myself :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to CS. I have only tried surfing a few couches, and those were arranged through the CS-profile of my travelling partner. I am looking to start contacting host myself soonish :)

Interests

I like to meet new and interesting people, that can provide new point of views on things. This is very inspiring to me.
I really enjoy being in the nature and feel it close to me. Taking photographs in 'the wild' from strange perspectives is a very enjoyable pastime for me.
I love playing games. I have spent a lot of time playing poker and backgammon (boardgame), games where mathematics and figuring out opponents play a big role :).
Listening to music is also a great part of my life... there is so much great music out there, and whenever I go to new places, I make sure to make a note of some of the local music.
I also enjoy cooking, and experiment with different combinations of vegetables and spices.

The music I enjoy at the moment ranges broad. Heres a few examples of what falls to mind: Depeche Mode, Portishead, Goldfrapp, Peter Fox, chemical brothers, Underworld, Chambao, ojos de brujo, soundtrack Amadeus, Rammstein, Raunchy, Sigur Ros.
Authors I enjoy: Paolo Coelho, Charles Bukowski, Stiegg Larsson, Nick Hornby.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Northern lights over Reykjavik, Iceland. Gorgeous olivefields and the mountains of Andalucia, Spain.
The amazing kindness of Brazilians - a very recent example: just 2 days ago, I was trying to buy a ticket for the metro in Sao Paulo, and while struggling with language barrier, and being 'yelled' at by the ticket vendor, a guy walked over, asked if I needed help, and just handed me freely a ticket to the metro. This without expecting anything back - there you go, have a nice evening :)!
