Hola, me llamo Janie. I consider myself fun/kind/polite/respectful and I love experiencing new things! I am probably one of the most open-minded individuals you'll have the pleasure of ever getting to meet...
Travel for me is roughly 50% about getting to meet new people (of quality & substance) and the remaining half is mostly about what I get to see and finding some delicious food along the way.
I look forward to using Couchsurfing as a means to meeting amazing people aka making new lifelong friendships.
"Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." - T. Roosevelt
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
that weekly CS event in NYC was definitely worthwhile and I can't wait to go back to another one!
I've lived vicariously through other friends that host and surf :)
It's my turn now!
International/Global/Economic News, History, Perfecting how to be one of the Best Backpackers/Travelers out there, Visiting New Cities & Beaches, Learning to get better in Cooking, Rest & Relaxation, Eating New Foods & Checking out New Restaurants, Photography (I'd like to take pride in that I have the talent of snapping great photos of others), Blogging on my new Website, Hot Sauce (forever in search of varying levels of spicy sauces throughout the world), Movies (my queue is getting long and am concerned I now have too many to watch), Vitamin C (finding that best antioxidant, especially while traveling), etc.
Music, Movies, and Books
With the goal of increasing my fluency in Spanish, I've downloaded 10+ Latino/Spanish music, with the idea of memorizing all of 'em :-).. of course I'm hooked on the Bailando song by Enrique Iglesias, as well as Travesuras by Nicky Jam.. Other than that, as I've always loved outdoor music festivals, EDM aka Electronic Dance Music has been one of my top favorites for over a decade. If you peer into my iPod, it seriously has various genres, like a pretty rainbow. :)
Books.. hmm.. just finished reading the following three: Fountainhead, Bared to You.. and now reading Atlas Shrugged
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The one that comes to my mind right now.. Swimming with Whale Sharks!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can definitely teach you some good basic Spanish, which can be extraordinarily helpful in visiting MANY Spanish speaking countries... and also having backpacked extensively alone, with close to a decade of experience, I can share some expert travel tips. Or we can trade. :-)
