Overview
About Me
Currently I'm in my first year of the reseachmaster Philosophy of Mind. Figuring out if we really live in the Matrix seemed like an important thing to do. Before that I did the bachelor in philosophy, so apparently its something I can't escape.
I play the tenor saxophone, currently in the local BigBand (SBBN, check us out!). So basically what I would like to ask is: "do you like jazz?"
I am also interested in other, older instruments, such as the low whistle, Finnish Jouhikko and even bagpipes.
I actually got to practice a lot of Jouhikko when I stayed in Finland as an exchange student.
Speaking of Finland: I also picked up Historical European Martial Arts, which is basically trying to do sword fighting as depicted in the medieval manuscripts. I practised that 5 days a week there, and currently try to bring the joy of historical arms to other people by giving small seminars and classes and such.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
The band that I drew most inspiration from a couple years back has to be Wardruna. The sheer amount of influence they have on modern neo-paganic folk music is mind-blowing.
As of now I listen to a lot more weird jazz, inspired by playing in a Bigband. My love for metal has escalated quite a bit as well.
Movies about Medieval or pre-Medieval history seem to do the trick for me.
Regarding books, I really like reading the big works on ancient European folklore. Books such as the Edda, Kalevala and Beowulf are definitely favorites of mine.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last summer some of my friend (Wies and Maartje) and I went hitchhiking to the Black Forest. Both the way there and the way back were crazy. We were able to stay with an incredibly chill Antifa commune in Basil, which completely derailed our plans. On the way back home we somehow got picked up by some hippies in a really typical van, and got to stay in their commune as well.
