ABOUT ME

So much to tell! I learned to act from my grandfather. I learned compassion from my mother. I learned hard work from my father. Dance has informed who I am and who I want to be. Nature is perhaps the most perfect thing that is or could ever be. I think the most important thing to develop as humans is ourselves with integrity to our personal truth and our ability to relate to others authentically. I want to share more in person!

PHILOSOPHY

I view the dance floor as a metaphor for life and most significantly, for relationship. The dance floor contains all the elements of our third dimensional existence, and all the dynamics of the interpersonal realms. All the factors that govern relationships extend into our bodies and those of whom we touch while dancing. We affect and are affected by one another on a visceral level the same as we are emotionally, spiritually, psychologically. Because we live in the 3rd dimension – because we manifest in this form – everything that we are on all levels must come through our bodies. How we act and respond physically is a reflection of our complete energetic state. Thus when we dance, a person must be able to feel – if not consciously and intellectually comprehend – a piece of our personal human experience.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As fully as I have the capacity for. I'm not verified because I think it's stupid to think that paying some business $20/year is supposed to help individuals trust me more. There's no logic to that. I'm a trustworthy person. I don't agree to stay somewhere I have to pay for if I don't have the money to pay. That's how I play. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was on the road constantly for all of 2012. I stayed with many friends up and down the west coast. I adhere to the ancient Greek guest law: I treat any home I enter as my own.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Climbing to the top of Ben Nevis, the tallest mountain in Scotland and being completely enveloped in fog - so much so that I almost didn't catch myself from falling off the top. Skating down the shale all the way to the bottom after. Amazing day.

Cocréa is the name of the dance style I am cocreating with my partner, Antje, evolving out of my love for dancing solo to electronic music and coming into partnership using partnered Blues dance as a foundation. Like Fusion, dancers draw upon their individual backgrounds to have a dynamic, kinetic conversation about the music they’re listening to. In a room populated by Fusion dancers and a diversity of music, many different dialects are allowed to mingle and honor the music, expressing it as fully as possible.
