About Me
Hi! A little about me... I grew up in northern Virginia, moved to the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area after graduating from high school and moved to the south central Pennsylvania area in 2004. I started a 4-year program at Liberty University in central Virginia in 2005 and graduated with my BA in English in 2009. In 2010 I signed a contract teaching English at a small language school in South Korea. I moved there in August of that year and stayed until 2012. Upon returning, I spent a month traveling around the country visiting old friends and family. Not having a teaching certificate or any serious interest in starting a career in teaching I started looking for jobs in publishing. After a year and a half of job searching off and on nothing was panning out so I tried to figure out what to do to keep my life moving forward. Cycling across the US for a charitable cause was one of the first thoughts to cross my mind and after a couple close friends and my mentor advised me to go for it I made up my mind to pursue this goal. Long term I'd like to work in the publishing industry!

Music, Movies, and Books
I've got a very diverse taste in music; soundtracks, classical/instrumental, oldies (40s, 50s, 60s and 70s), and pop/rock. Favorite movies include Braveheart, 127 Hours, Cinderella Man, Alive, Toy Story, Babette's Feast, and The Dark Knight. Favorite books include CS Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Prodigal God, and Harry Potter.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Taught English in South Korea. It was kind of a "fly by the seat of my pants" thing. I hardly prepared at all. It was a tough couple of years but I made memories that will be with me the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach a couple of bicycle maintenance skills, some cooking ideas and unique ways of looking at life. I'd love to learn more about bicycle touring, contemporary and classic literature, and life in whatever region I happen to be in (local foods, entertainment, culture, etc.). I'd love to share pictures from around the US and the world and stories of my travels!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of stories of traveling, perhaps a home-cooked meal, pictures from around the world, and unique insights into life.
