ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Jason! I'm a skier, mountain biker, sailor, and a good friend. I spend most of each year between New York City; Vail, Colorado; and a little island called Ilha Grande south of Rio, Brazil. I'm like a gypsy, but with some roots. A really curious person living for adventure, so when I'm not in those places, I am on the road and usually with my bicycle. I love to explore, try new things, meet new people and experience new cultures. I enjoy the challenge of arriving in a new city and looking for the market to buy food, or using a cash machine by pressing buttons in foreign languages, and asking for directions by pointing and laughing when I don't know the local language. I asked my closest friends, "Who am I?", and they replied that I'm: adventurous, open-minded, generous, friendly, respectful, clean, a bicycle fanatic, and a good secret keeper. Awww, that's nice. My friends know me well. :-) I'm also a non-smoker, always clean up after myself, and am not really a "partier" anymore.

Intereses

I feel the most alive when I'm outside of my comfort zone. I seek adventure and exploration through mountain biking, road cycling, rock climbing, hiking, camping, kayaking, sailing, snorkeling.. being outside. All of those activities are wonderful, but I enjoy them more when sharing with good friends. My favorite conversation is about life and discovering new perspectives through other people's eyes. Everyone has a story! I don't care about politics one little bit.

Música, películas y libros

Drama movies over slapstick comedy. Non-fiction over fiction. Foreign or independent over Hollywood. But I tend to spend more time around friends and being outside rather than watching or reading.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Sailing 1,000 miles from Rio to Salvador (Brazil) and stopping 20 miles off the coast on Abrolhos. Mind boggling.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I know quite a bit about how to use technology to improve mobility to move about the planet. I know a thing or two about bikes, and some things about tearing your apartment down to the bare walls and trying to build it back together. Oh, I sew.
