About Me

To liberate and awaken minds from fear and enslavement. To seek new experiences and adventures, without which life would be dull and unmemorable.

My name is Winston. I grew up in California, but am now traveling the world and trying to live in multiple countries. I am a writer and self-employed with an internet business. I run a popular website and movement that helps people who are lonely and unhappy in America find happiness and fulfillment overseas, giving them hope, validation and a solution out of the rut they live in. If you want to see it, see the link below.

My site has really taken off the past few years because the content is unique and authentic, and we deal with important issues that matter which other sites are too ashamed to deal with. As a result, I've gotten a lot of web traffic and am now making a decent residual income through advertising income, sponsorships and various affiliate commissions. This allows me the freedom to live and travel wherever I want.

I hope to move to Europe someday, because the culture and people are so soulful and passionate, like me. So I connect with people a lot more naturally than I do in America, where the culture is all about making money, working, consuming and materialistic values. Suffice to say, when you are a very soulful person who is surrounded by soulless people, it feels very alienating and isolating.

Also, I'm a very curious, open-minded person who thrives on novelty, and I've found that Europeans are similar to me in that regard. They are very curious and excited by novelty and new things, and have more of a variety of interests. But in contrast, most Americans are not curious, do not have many interests, and prefer familiarity/routine, thus they are not as open to meeting new people either.

I know on CS you are supposed to be positive and lighthearted, and not make such politically incorrect comparisons, since that's the theme and attitude here. So I apologize for saying things that are politically incorrect. But I'm just being honest and telling the truth about how I feel. I've never understood why you have to be politically correct on public websites and suppress your true thoughts and feelings. It doesn't make sense to me since I'm all about honesty and integrity.

Thanks for reading about me. Hope you found it interesting. You can see my bio page with key links about me here:

Best wishes to you all for success, freedom and happiness.

Some of my favorite quotes:

"It takes far less effort to find and move to the society that has what you want than it does to try to reconstruct an existing society to match your standards." - Harry Browne, How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World

"If anyone feels they "come out of their shell" when overseas, try to keep something in mind. That person you are overseas is the real you. The person you are in America is a prisoner, nothing more." - Grunt, HappierAbroad Forum

"The greatest awakening I underwent in my travels is that nations in reality are the exact opposite of how they are depicted in the media." - Ladislav, Expat Advisor of HappierAbroad.com

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I've used both this site and HospitalityClub.org. They've all been great experiences and I've met lots of wonderful people. I've used CS and HC in Lithuania, Poland, America, Taiwan and the Philippines.

If you would like to see more references about me beyond this profile, you can see my Hospitality Club feedback at http://www.hospitalityclub.org , user name "WWu777". Or you can view my references page at:

I enjoy traveling, writing, deep discussions, meeting interesting people, photography, tennis, billiards, ping pong, fooseball (table soccer), swimming, martial arts, hiking, coin-collecting, chess, scrabble, history, museums, science-fiction/fantasy, westerns, romance, cooking, cultural events, vegetarian food, metaphysics, New Age spirituality, philosophy, paranormal phenomena, and just living life to the fullest. I enjoy all styles of music except country, rap, and heavy metal. I am a vegetarian and my favorite foods are Chinese, Italian, and Vegetarian cuisine. My sun sign is Pisces with Scorpio rising and Gemini moon (for those who don’t know, the rising influences your outer personality and the moon sign influences your inner self and emotions). And my Meyer-Briggs temperament type is INFJ.

Music, Movies & Books

I like documentaries on alternative subjects. I also watch films and TV shows from the past, because TV was better back then, not trashy like today.

My favorite movies are "The Empire Strikes Back", "Dances with Wolves" and "Zeitgeist Addendum". And my favorite books are "How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World" by Harry Browne, "Reality Check" by Darryl Sloan, "The Holographic Universe" by Michael Talbot, "Under the Tree" by Greg Stone, and "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.
