ABOUT ME

Hi everyone,

I'm Xabi, from Bilbao, the most important city in the Basque Country.

I'm a medical student and I try to travel as much as I can as I like to discover other cultures, meet new people and visit new places. After almost a year in Canada I'm planning my next trip: the USA!!

I am a cheerful, easy going and positive person and also a passionate about cultural exchange, living good experiences and enthusiastic to try something new!

I try to make life simple: enjoying new company while we drink some beers, being outdoors as much as I can when the weather is fine, relaxing; in few words, doing whatever it's necessary to enjoy every moment, wherever I am.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I want to take part in this amazing cultural exchange, both abroad and at home!!

I've couchsurfed several time and all of them have been great!! When I start thinking about my next trip I take for granted that I'm gonna couchsurf, it's just awesome.

兴趣

Among the hobbies and interests I have, I would stand out TRAVELLING. I love knowing people from all over the world and enriching myself with new cultures and experiences. I live in a city almost surrounded by mountains, so whenever I have some free time, I take my bike and go for a ride. I also like talking about medicine, health, politics, history, music...

I'm also fascinated with languages, I'd love to help you with Spanish. Basque is also my mother language, I suposse you haven't heard anything or almost anything about it, so I could tell you about it and even teach you some words!! :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I snorkeled next to sea turtles in Hawaii. I saw the active crater of a volcano. I touched snowed while I was in Hawaii!! We did a bonfire while we watched the sunset. I've been 2 metres from a moose (typical Canadian eh?). I've been in a VIP tour of the Canadian parliament. I hope there are many more coming!!

I've been a volunteer in a house which welcomes people with AIDS, other pathologies, in detoxification process and in social rehabilitation process. It was really rewarding and I'm extreamly grateful to the people staying there. When it comes to giving help,you receive more than what you give.
