关于我
"We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us."
I've spent a lot of time thinking about the type of life I want to live. I used to believe that money, a successful career, and status were the things that would give my life meaning, but I couldn't have been more wrong. After a few years in corporate America, it didn't take long for me to realize that I need more from life than I could ever get sitting behind a desk. Since that realization, my goals for my life have shifted drastically. I am now a human plagued by the greatest "disease" there is -- wanderlust. I want to see everything this incredible world has to offer, but more than that, I want the chance to meet and connect with the many different people who inhabit it. I want to create a global community so that wherever I am in the world, it feels like home. With that in mind, I quit my job last year and moved to New Zealand, where I've been living/traveling in my campervan, Star, for the last 7 months. It's been a wild adventure full of new experiences that constantly push me outside of my comfort zone, and I LOVE it! I feel humbled and privileged to be able to live in a way that truly calls to my soul; exploring both my inner and outer world in such a magical place as NZ. Bit by bit, I am uncovering the depths of who I am, and I am loving that human more and more. I am a bright light ready to shine, to give of myself to those I connect with, to spread seeds of love and compassion throughout the world, and to reconnect with the real "purpose" of being alive, which in my opinion, is just to revel in the pure bliss of existing!
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
If you've read my "About Me", you know that meeting and connecting with people is one of the things I value most in life. The focus today (at least in America) tends to be on "me" not "we" when the reality of it is, we are all in this together. There is so much to be learned through the lives of others, and by becoming part of the Couchsurfing network, I hope to tap into (and add to) the collective power contained within our shared human experiences.
On the more logistical side, it also seems like Couchsurfing could be a great way to mix up my travel style. I've been spending A LOT of time alone (which has been incredible), but I am at a point now where I'd really like to slow down a bit and experience some of these new places through the eyes of those who live there.

音乐、电影和书籍
I am a junkie for house music--specifically deep/bass house--but have been branching out into indie and other non-electronic genres as of late (guess hours on the road will do that to ya!).
My favorite movies are Love and Monsters and Spontaneous (because I'm a sucker for a non-traditional love story), and when it comes to books, you can find me engrossed in a myriad of genres, though I am particularly fond of fantasy or sci-fi fiction :)
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
I came out as queer at the age of 34, ended a 7.5 yr relationship, and moved across the world to live solo in a foreign country for a year!!
教,学,和分享
I'm not sure I have specific skills to teach, but I am a lover of deep and meaningful conversations; if you're someone who enjoys the thrill of vulnerable and raw human interaction, I'm your gal.
我可以与沙发主分享些什么
A safe space for open dialogue and a zest for life that I've been told is quite catching :)
Otherwise, I'm pretty good at stepping in wherever I can, so if there's anything you want to tackle while I'm around, I'm happy to help!
