About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore Canada by bus, train, plane, foot, bike, canoe, kayak or snowshoe!
ABOUT ME
I am currently a PhD Student at Toronto, but I will soon move to Notre Dame. My plan there is to spend as few time as I can in South Bend! I enjoy traveling and I cannot imagine any better way of traveling than CS. I am a very outdoorsy person: I love hiking, camping and climbing. I am also learning to canoe and I am planning to buy a red lumberjack shirt, which I hope give me the basic skills automatically (or so Canadians claim). Recently, I have been failing to learn to play the ukelele.
PHILOSOPHY
The best way to discover something is getting lost (or so I hope, because most of the time I have no other chance!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just discovered this site (yeah, I know, I cannot understand why it took me so long!). So, for now, I want to surf around Canada meeting awesome people and having great experiences. This will be my Goodbye Canada trip, because next year I'll be moving to the States, where I will be more than happy to host as many surfers as I can!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not yet! Coming soon... ;)
Interests
I love anything outdoors, particularly climbing and backpacking remote wild areas. I also like big lively cities, small coffeeshops, filthy underground music venues, and sketchy bars with cheap beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've backpacked around Europe for several months. I've visited almost every European capital, hiked in the Alps, drank German and Belgium beer, visited Roman ruins, gone to the theater in Prague, relaxed in the Latvian coast,...
I've hiked through Scotland following the big lakes for 15 days and end up in the Orkney Islands, which are one of the most amazing places on Earth.
I've traveled northern India and spent 36 hours in a crowded Indian train eating spicy sweet weird fruits, and survived another train ride with thousands of orange-dressed pilgrims with all sorts of instruments and sticks by standing several hours with my backpack in my head next to the toilet of the train.
More recently, I traveled around Canada and backpacked in some great national parks. I have also seen the northern lights from a remote cabin in the Yukon (north of Canada) in winter and gone dog sledding through a frozen lake.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can definitely not teach anyone how to play the ukelele, but I can teach how to hold it. But, most likely, I'd like someone to give me a couple of lessons.
For what is worth, I know some highly theoretical philosophy (is there any other kind?), basic climbing stuff, and some languages!
