I was brought up in a village in the mountains between Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng. My parents grow ginger and other crops. I studied as a lawyer but it is difficult to get a job in Laos and I decided to become a tour guide in Luang Prabang, a job which I enjoy, as it has enabled me to meet many foreigners. Mainly I guide tours on the Mekong River between Houai Xay and Luang Prabang but I take some other tours too. During my tour guide training I visited China and I have also been with friends to other countries in Asia such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, India Cambodia , Germany, Austria, Italy, potugal, France and swisszerland

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am visiting Europe and my friend Ian recommended that I join Couchsurfing so we can travel together in expensive countries and enjoy meeting local people there. I hope that when I return I might be able to host some travellers in Luang Prabang.
