About Me

I’m Ziad an Egyptian student currently in Bologna , I started caring about discovering new places in 2021, and since then I‘ve been to many places in my own country/Italy , and traveled overseas but only few times.I love both natural landscapes-especially mountains- and museums, but if I had to choose, I’d always choose nature.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get to know locals and their culture rather than traveling solo, and making friends from different countries.

Interests

My biggest ever interest is football since I was a 4 years old kid watching Ronaldo in 2006/2007 united jersey.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don’t listen to a specific music genre , but my favorite artist/band are definitely Fairuz/Cairokee, and I have something for Egyptian and Levantine 1900s songs . I am currently trying more to discover International films rather than just English ones, but generally speaking my favorite genre is Drama and my favorite films are : La Haine , God father part II & The Departed. I‘m not really a bibliophile, but I read only several Arabic Novels/Books , and I do really love Mahmoud Darwish , I’m also a big fan of Arabic poetry. Theology became something of interest to me in 2024 also.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched Breaking Bad last season in one day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I consider myself open minded, and a great listener-except in football arguments- so no one should really find a problem teaching me anything new. I can teach (or show my pov) a bit in various topics like football,Egypt/Egyptian food recipes, politics, history ,films, and of course Arabic language and literature but I’m more into having a two sided conversation and sharing experiences than teaching/learning .

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, described as the best hummus maker by a friend with lots of Lebanese friends was the biggest compliment I’ve ever gotten. Conversations and long-lasting friendship I hope.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Czech Republic, Germany, United Arab Emirates

Countries I’ve Lived In

Egypt, Italy
