About Me

CURRENT MISSION

None at this time. Gotta make some money before travelling again!

I live in such a tiny studio now that I unfortunately have no room for guests. But I can meet up for coffee or a drink if the timing is right!

ABOUT ME

I really love traveling, and I live in the moment and purposely get lost because I find that takes me to the best of memories on my trips. I try not to make plans, but I do set mini missions like finding the best coffee shop or brewery. I just want to get the best out of every city I visit--meeting new people and being excited about the experience.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by the Golden Rule--treat others like you want to be treated. I want to meet as many people as I can, make as many friends as I can, and travel to as many places during this one life I get!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Last fall i took an epic trip to Europe--started in Oslo, then Berlin, Münich, Basel, Köln, Amsterdam and lastly Copenhagen--stayed with a few couchsurfing hosts along the way which was so amazing for me! Afterall, I have a blast showing people around my city, and to be able to explore new cities with locals is the best thing anyone can do for their trip! I live very genuinely by the Golden Rule--that's how i participate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I have stayed in Münich and Basel housed by a couple really amazing couchsurfing hosts. A trip to a new city is so fulfilling when you're with people that know the city. You learn so much more about the culture and get to visit the hidden gems that you can't find holding a map lost on a street somewhere, right? I also know at least a dozen or so friends and family members that have traveled the U.S., Africa, Europe, Asia, and elsewhere thanks to this awesome website. I have hosted a bunch of individuals and groups from the U.S. and all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I enjoy any sort of movie that hasn't been shown on a big screen (minus a couple, maybe) The Goonies is my all time favorite. I love the Hours, Akira Kurosawa's Dreams, Amelie, and many more. Music: I love Youth Galaxy, Passion Pit, Frankie Rose, Tool, St. Vincent, Radiohead, Nine inch nails, and the list is really infinite. Books: I am a huge Jack Kerouac fan, but have many close friends that despise that style and I respect that. I last read Tina Fey's Bossypants and and am currently reading The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down by Anne Fadiman. Plus, I read NPR and AlJazeera articles daily.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Oktoberfest in Munich (München) and met some of my favorite couchsurfing hosts. That was definitely my most amazing trip because I flew into Oslo, danced on a viking boat tour with real vikings, then flew into Berlin to meet up with some of my former research partners, and spent the next few days in Munich where I got to explore as a local with my couchsurfing buddies (who by the way came out to Santa Fe, NM to spend time with me a year later!) I could go on and on about that trip, so just ask if you want to hear my adventures about the Rhine River and Amsterdam! I have explored Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and all over Florida. I have climbed Tent Rocks outside of Santa Fe, NM as well as the highest peak in NM in Taos (Wheeler Peak). I plan a big ski/snowboarding trip every year with friends in Colorado and/or New Mexico. Now that I'm back in Chicago, I'm already planning that trip for the spring. I miss my snowboarding...

Teach, Learn, Share

Anyone who has traveled the world and shared their stories with me to make me feel like I've been there, too. I am ready to see it in my own eyes and experiences now though!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My travel stories, life stories, or any other experience stories. If anyone needs recommendations for traveling the U.S., Mexico, the D.R. or Germany and thereabouts, I have a lot to advise on. I am also a pharmacist, so I can talk and talk about medications and herbal remedies for health conditions all day! I studied Herbal Medicine and Infectious Disease in my last years of pharmacy school and during my residency. I can share my knowledge of that, plus music and art and sports and whatever else! ;)
