Hi, we are Xin(Cynthia) and Yunzhou(David), an easy-going couple, just learning to be couchsurfing!

David is my boyfriend. We both graduated from Renmin University of China in 2025 June, where I earned a bachelor's degree in PPE(Philosophy, Politics and Economics) and he graduated in Agricultural Economics & Data Science.

My hometown is Sichuan Province, while I grew up in Shanghai with my parents. Every Spring Festival, our family travels a long way (2000+km) back home. I have a strong feeling of the unbalanced development in China, especially in the education sector. My academic interest thus come to studying the influence of migration and related public policies.

David grew up in Wuhan and lived there until 18 years old, including the most difficult time during Covid 19. He is fascinated at cooking, cycling and traveling. He has been to 30/34 provinces in China, and 12 countries around the world. He is an amazing cook, capable of making Chinese cuisine of different types, probably because his parents' bad cooking and he took the work early.

We met in the outdoor club of our undergraduate university. We spent two of our summer vacations on public welfare, research and hiking in rural China. Last winter, we toured around Hainan Island with a 10-day bicycle trip together. We applied to same university for master's degree in the U.S. together and have been in the states for half a year.

I appreciate Galen Crew (his most popular song is "Sleepyhead"). It's interesting that he is more famous in China than in his hometown US.

I enjoyed a lot of movies, among them a most recent one is The legend of Hei 2.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I covered a song with lyrics written by my friend and I, as a gift for our favorite Undergrad course "The International Law". I played it myself as a beginner of ukelele.

David rode 2100km from Shanghai to Sichuan Province in 19 days in 2025 on bicycle. He climbed a 5400m snow-capped mountain with technical equipment with university friends.

In 2025, we completed a 75km long clockwise circular hiking route at Mount Wutai, one of the most famous places for Buddhist. Last winter vacation, we finished a 7-day road biking trip around Hainan Island.

I can teach mandarin Chinese, geography about China, calligraphy, tips for long-term cycling tour, etc.

I am willing to learn languages that commonly used in daily life (i.e. I've learned different ways to say "thank you" whichever country I went)

also with an open heart with new skills, musical instruments and so on!

I usually travel with my boyfriend, and both of us are keen on cooking (see the photos in my profile). We can cook for the hosts if you want to try some Chinese dishes.
