Overview
About Me
Hello, My name is Xinuo Liu, and I’m a visiting scholar from China, currently doing academic research at Stanford University.
My background is in archaeology, Chinese culture, and education.
I’m an easygoing, respectful, and tidy guest who enjoys meaningful conversations about culture, travel, and everyday life.
I love exploring museums, local history, and traditional crafts, and I’m also interested in U.S.–China cultural exchange.
During my stay in the United States, I hope to meet kind people, learn about local communities, and share stories from my hometown, Nanjing, China.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing to meet friendly people, experience local life, and exchange cultural ideas.
As a researcher, I believe every journey is a chance to learn.
I hope to make genuine friendships and give back to the Couchsurfing community by sharing knowledge and stories about Chinese history and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a wide range of music — from classical and instrumental to light pop.
I’ve learned clarinet before, so I especially love gentle, melodic tunes.
As for movies, I like inspiring and meaningful stories such as *Forrest Gump*, *The Shawshank Redemption*, and *The Secret Life of Walter Mitty*.
My favorite books include historical works, biographies, and travel writing — anything that connects the past and present through human stories.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once worked at the Kunming Museum in China, where I gave guided tours about the Flying Tigers — American pilots who helped China during World War II.
Meeting visitors from around the world and sharing stories of friendship and courage was an unforgettable experience.
It made me realize how powerful cultural exchange can be.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach history and culture, calligraphy, and basic Mandarin conversation.
I’m always eager to learn about different lifestyles, local customs, and community stories.
I believe that every host and traveler exchange is a chance to learn something new about the world — and about ourselves.
