Hejhej, I am Xinyue (Joe), a Chinese student living in Sweden studying International Development and Management at Lund University. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As a fan of backpacking, I think the key in travelling is not just exploring the most famous attractions, but to experience the local culture. Since Couchsurfing provides such a great platform to exchange different cultures through interacting with local hosts, I couldn't afford to miss such a fantastic opportunity to meet different people and explore different cultures :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Short-term: Climbed an active volcano in Indonesia with my girlfriend

Long-term: Looking back in my life, the most impressive and most 'correct' thing I have done is to teach pupils in a poorest region in China for one year. Difficult as it was, I still experienced a lot which totally changed my life direction. Because of these experiences, I decided to learn sustainable development and poverty alleviation with the hope of making more contribution to that.

- Maybe we can exchange our culture experiences through sharing cooking! I would say that one of the amazing thing is 'POTLUCK'!
- If you are a fan of sports, I am pretty sure we can have lots of fun together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Culture: If you are interest in Eastern culture, I can definitely share them with you; of course, I am also curious about yours.

Cooking: My grandmom used to be a Chinese chef, so I have learnt a lot from her about how to cook Chinese food. Though what I cook are still far away from my grandmom's (definitely), I would say, they are still pretty delicious!

Other things such as sports or walking around or maybe anything you can name.
