About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To speak greek, where it has never been spoken before!

ABOUT ME

Tris is a hillbilly in a city of hills. He designs houses and studies languages, particularly Greek. He is fond of grammar, port, gardens, music and hills. He has a pet tree which lives in the backyard.

Jess is a Sydney girl. She designs houses and studies permaculture, is a FABULOUS cook, loves to meditate, sew, grow vegetables and read books.

PHILOSOPHY

Have fun. Learn things. Do things. Avoid paperwork.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have an awesome comfy fold out lounge. It's awesome and comfy. AND it really folds out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A previous flatmate was a couchsurfer, and regularly had folks around to stay, and it was fantastic. We've had a Nebraskan post newspaper poetry on our walls, and an English girl create garden beds and organise parties at our old house in Sydney. Since then we've travelled New South Wales, England and Greece on peoples couches and had a grand old time and met some splendid people.

We have newspaper poetry up on the wall written by a beautifully spoken Nebraskan man, and we have garden beds in the backyard built by a friendly english girl who also organised a party for us.

Interests

Music, all things greek, bushwalking, mountains, forests, grasslands, good food, fashion, travel, gardening, history, languages, internet, all things geeky, architecture, all things creative, cheese.

Music, Movies, and Books

We like virtually all types of music outside of the mass-produced mainstream. Everything from metal, blues rock and jazz, to classical, Cretian folk and hip hop.

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, books about grammar and architecture, David Eddings, fantasy generally, and the odd dystopian sci-fi novel thrown in for good measure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tris - I saw the southern lights. The whole sky was glowing red. I saw a black and white rainbow once too.

Jess - Jess saw her feet once.

Teach, Learn, Share

We know a lot about Australia and Sydney and Canberra and the surrounding areas, so we can help you avoid the tourist traps and see the real Australia. We're particularly discovering all the amazing bushwalking (hiking) around the national capital, and would love to take folks along on our adventures.

We'd love to practice our greek or our french with anyone who can help.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Greece, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Vanuatu, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Malaysia
