ABOUT ME

I'm a good person with a big heart. I come from a humble family (immigrants of Mexico) who has taught me the value of hard work, community and social justice. I'm passionate about life; I love to laugh and put my heart into everything I do. For the most part, I'm always smiling!

For 14 years, I worked professionally and finally decide to free myself from the American Adult Industrial Complex (living and being my career).
Quitting my one month ago was the best decision I've ever made. I'm ready to explore this marvelous world and see what life has to offer! I would like to partake in local social activism and possibly participate in community projects while travelling.

Mexicana de corazon aunque soy nacida en Estados Unidos, soy una chica curiosa y abierta que se interesa mucho por conocer el mundo. Decidí dejar mi trabajo hace 4 meses para empezar mi carrera de vagabunda. Por el momento estoy encantada de la vida, viajando por Sur America para conocer lo mas que pueda. Tengo mas de un mes viajando por Argentina en realidad no tengo planes fijos pero me encantaria viajar hacia Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador y Colombia. Me encantaria compartir con personas que realmente viven y conocen su propia ciudad o pueblo. Espero conocer personas de diferentes cultures para aprender sobre la sociedad, la política y tradiciones de otros! Me interesa en particular, en el activismo social y me gustaria involucrarme en proyectos comunitarios.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Recently joined the CS community and look forward to connecting with others during my travels. Unfortunately, I do not have an open couch to offer those visiting Chicago. However, I am open to having a cup of tea or drink and show you around my beautiful city!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie, no couch surfing experience thus far. I Look forward to many awesome surfing opportunities!

Interests

Reading, learning new languages, traveling & meeting people, baking, and of course DANCING! I love to dance! Dancing feeds the soul! I'm willing to dance to anything and everything! I am interested in learning more about photography and taking pictures of nature and people in their element.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- anything that has soul! Favorite music: World house music, regional Mexican Norteño music, Salsa, Merengue, Brazilian Samba & Bossa Nova, Forro, Bachata, New Wave and of course Chicago's Classic House music!

Books: Spanish Literature (especially contemporary spanish lit: Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, Gioconda Belli). Favorite Books include: La Mujer Habitada, Lluvia de Oro,

Movies: Say Anything, Babel, Amores Perros, El Secreto de tus Ojos & other foreign films. Not a big movie goer because never had time, although I would love for this to change!

Me encanta bailar y escuchar todos tipos de musica pero especialmente musica Latina o musica que se pueda bailar. Me gusta ver peliculas extranjeras y igual leer libros culturales o relacionadas con injusticias sociales.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

By far the most amazing thing I have done is quit my job, it was quite liberating!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Mexican slang terms, Dance or make tasty Mexican salsa.

Learn: I am definitely a life-long learner and love to read, live and learn. I take pleasure in learning about other cultures´ history, traditions, music and art; the world in general.

Share: I love sharing my positive energy and spirit with others!
