Overview
About Me
I live in DC and I'm doing regional studies at Georgetown University, focusing on Latin America and the Western Hemisphere in general.
I love languages. I get excited to see ideas get well formed in all languages that I manage and I enjoy listening to them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My visit to Mexico last December brought me here. I've had several hosts in DF, NOLA, and San Francisco. I'm going to Bogotá soon and expecting more couchsurfing experiences to take place.
This website convinces me about the beauty of encounter and I cherish the belief in open conversations.
Interests
I love music, I learnt piano from childhood but not much is left in me. I learned Guzheng too, a traditional Chinese instrument, and I've kept it all along. I picked up some drum recent years, and have been with underground band doing small shows back in Beijing, not professional at all but much fun for real.
I have a movie problem, namely every now and then I will just go ahead and lie to myself that I can learn everything about this world via movies. It is not easy to find the right one all the time, just like all the other life decisions, so when it happens, I prioritize perfect timing over everything.
I keep diaries, not like on daily basis to keep a log of food that I have or clothes that I wear. I like to sit down and write when I'm stressful or emotional. I like to explore my own feelings about everything and to compassion others. I typically do diaries after finishing a movie, so yea not daily but frequent enough...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Maybe that I have not exhausted my interest yet and still see much to be done.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach mandarin. I mean, call the waiter or waitress, say this or that, numbers within five, say right or wrong, and thank you goodbye. So important and so enough for traveling around.
I want to learn about different perspectives on universal topics, like ethical considerations in development, nature of politics, interpersonal relationships, etc. I love both abstract reasoning and personal stories.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would be interested in sharing my exposure to different cultures and how I then reflect on my own background. In such a connected world, it is hard to get bored alone. I'm also willing to share a meal.
