Hey, I'm Yan and I live in Barcelona.
I'm open-minded and easy going, addicted into all kinds of sports(hiking, bicycling, climbing, etc), food, dancing, and linguistics.

I am a Chinese mandarin and Spanish language teacher, I speak fluent Chinese, English, Spanish, Catalan and am still continuing learning.

Currently I’m learning digital keyboard 🎹 and programming 👩🏻‍💻to explore more possibilities in different aspect of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For travelling, I'd like to describe myself as a "backpacker", which in my view I will left nothing except from my traces, and carry nothing except from good memories and life experience. So far, couchsurfing has provided me with precious and unforgettable experience! Would love to rejoin it again during my staying in Europe !

I’m using CS because here people tend to connect with each other by sharing, communicating, offering with sincerity and respect. With my maturity, I realise it’s a continuing need for me to have deep meaningful conversation with all kinds of human being, with different identities and stories, which forms such a diverse and dynamic world.

Not saying it’s not good to meet people by accident or other platforms, I’d like to keep my options open. And so far, I am inspired a lot by people I met here, so I’m still here.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: whichever music genres, I have different playlists for different moments, for example, pop music, jazz, classic, African, etc.

I’m learning keyboard 🎹 and would love to have a music session together and make memories together 🎶

Movies: some movies are for laughing, some for crying, some for excitement. I’d also like to watch any kinds of movies.
If I could choose to live the life of the main character, it can be Interstellar, Forrest Gump, Léon…

Books: psychology/non-fiction/sci-fi/history/poem…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-accomplished a 3 day 600km solo motorbike trip from Chiang Mai up util Golden Triangle during rainy season.
-obtained open water diver title right after learned how to swim in the same summer.
-learned Spanish by myself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation: I’m open to talk about any topics without shame since I believe communication is a capacity, and I’m still learning.

Fusion recipes: “you are what you eat”, I insist carrying on the family kitchen traditions while keep inventing food with the inspiration from what I am, what I see, what I travel, and what I received.
