About Me

Born and bred in Bangkok, Thailand, with a Thai-Chinese background. The best thing in my life is having two sisters, one older one younger, and always being there for each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to travel and meet new people. I don't like to spend a lot on accommodation, as long as it's clean and safe it's usually good enough. Traveling to foreign places without knowing anyone can be fun but also daunting at the same time. I've had my fair share of obstacles during backpacking and I understand how much of a difference it makes if I'd just known someone that I can just call on to ask simple questions or give me a tip. I have also met really nice people on the way who have helped me, and I'd like to pay it forward by helping people out in my own hometown.

Interests

Sustainability, shared resources, community spaces, public spaces, volunteer work, co-working spaces, co-living spaces, urban farming, outdoor activities.

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing that my Western friends have found it difficult to understand is Asian values or why we still live with our parents even after we're working and all grown up. It's something that I was not quite into as well growing up in an international school, but as I got older I understand more of what Asian values mean. I like to explain and share to friends who can't quite get their head around this idea, as well as sharing the cultural differences from different point of view. I can also share tips on surviving in South East Asia, or less developed regions where it's more disorganized and chaotic.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories and exchanging experiences. I clean after myself and can help around the house. I like to go out and explore cities, up for activities and events (not pubcrawls and drinking though), so I'd be happy to accompany hosts if they'd like to. I like to jog and do outdoor activities, which is something I think is nice to have a buddy to do with.
