Hey everyone,

My name is Yann, 32 years old guy from Switzerland (french speaking part).

I have done a bit of travelling already and probably the aspect I like the most about it is meeting people along the way. These are the memories I keep with me. I like sharing my experiences as well as anything that could make people laugh. I believe that we all have something to share and learn from others.

6 years ago I moved to the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands in Spain. Life takes you to places you do not always expect.

I would say that my main hobbies are cooking and playing sports. Surfing is a big part of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think there is nothing better than to learn from local people when you travel. I am way more interested about the travelling than the destination. I think couchsurfing is the best way to follow this. Hopefully people travelling will also learn something from me about the place I live in.

Interests

I would say that my interests are:
- cooking : I am crazy about discovering food culture from the world and try to replicate at home (not always successful),
- doing sports: a lot of surfing here on the island. Tennis and football have also been a big part of my life.
- my job: working as an engineer in renewable energies here in the archipelago is great. We also collaborate with Africa with regular trips, which is a part that I love too.
