Hey there!
I am Yannick from Germany and currently I am an Au Pair in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am in the states since last July and I'll stay here to next August! I love travelling and learn about different cultures. That's one reason why I came to the USA after graduating from High-School. Here I stay with a hostfamily most of the time. I am their manny (male nanny). But I am also allowed to travel around. Like I said I love travelling, new cultures and new people. I am super open minded and I want to try everything at least once! That's why I like so many things! I respect everyone who respects me and I am really laid-back! I love animals and sports (more like actually doing sports than watching them tbh). I hope that gives you a general idea of myself!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to try couchsurfing because I think it is the perfect way to experience a unknown city. I don't like to be a typical tourist I prefer to know the insider spots and the people there. Also it's a great way to make new friends and to connect with people and to learn AND teach about culture.

Interests

My interests go from TV/Movies over culture and art to sports. I like to stay in with a couple of good friends and have a cook off or a game night but I also love to go out with friends to socialize. I think a day at a museum is a good day but also that hanging with friends at the lake/ the park or around a bonfire is well spent time! I love to hear personal stories/experience since I am at the very beginning of my world-traveler life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am really bad at picking favorites! Like I don't want to say "blablabla" is my favorite and then regret it because I didn't remembered something. So I am pretty open to everything. I guess most of the time I listen to pop music or what ever is on. I like to go watch a movie but it doesn't take a lot for me to like a movie as long as I am well entertained I like it. I am not a huge fan of art movies where you have to dig for a deeper meaning. Books and me are not the closest friends... I more like to talk to people and hear stories not read about them. But there is one story that started as a book which will always have a space on my shelf- Harry Potter!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my home to live with a family I didn't know in a country I hardly knew for a year. And if you don't think that's amazing... I also did bungee jumping in Germany what was pretty cool (would do it again!).
