About Me
CURRENT MISSION
"I'm searching for something, something i'll never find, it can only be seen by the eyes of the blind."
ABOUT ME
i love to travel. my first road trip ended in disaster, and i knew i was hooked from that moment on. i always want to be somewhere different, somewhere new.
born and raised in colorado, my parents kicked me out when i was almost 16, and i've been on my own since. i've been all over the continental us, exploring all kinds of different lives, from being a waiter to ferrying people on a barge, and just about everything in between. a jack of all trades, but i've mastered a few...
PHILOSOPHY
i grew up around a lot of old people, with the whole "children are to be seen and not heard" philosophy crammed down my throat. but i learned from it. when you get old, you begin to regret those random opportunities that you turned down in the name of being responsible. you realize that you have broken your body and hurt everyday for things. things that you cant take with you when you die. things that dont really matter, and you've wasted your one chance at life by being what everybody else says you should be. i see the desparation in their eyes that says "i wish i'd done that while i could". nothing terrifies me more than the thought of becoming like that. you think you should work hard, be "responsible", be a good and productive member of society? these good normal people are the ones that destroy our world, practice their "business ethics" while stealing our money. they consume without care, and stockpile the scraps so that others stay down. then you realize your going to die. and all you did was work, and screw people over while you did it. when your laying in your deathbed, with nothing to do but think about your life, the things you enjoyed, the people whose lives you touched, what are you going to think about yourself and the things you did? are you going to see that guy you fired because it made business sense? are you going to rationalize that it wasnt your fault the state took away his children because he couldnt afford food while you bought steak with the money you saved by firing him? the whole damn human race needs to grow a heart.
but traveling has reaffirmed my faith in people. when your on the road people come out of the woodwork to help. they want to be involved, to hear your stories, to be a part of your story. have you ever hitch-hiked? have you ever been stranded in vegas, with no money or food or a phone to call someone with? and suddenely a stranger appears, with just the things you need to get out of that situation. the universe provides, my friend, the universe provides.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i'm pretty new at this whole cs.com thing. i want to participate, but i'm not too sure how to get it going. once i get settled again i will have at least a couple of couches to be used. its exciting, and i cant wait.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
i've stayed on couches in new mexico, nevada, oregon, california, most of the midwest, all over. other peoples couches are about the greatest thing in the world when you are traveling in unfamiliar territory.
one day i had a friend ask if i wanted to go on a spontanious trip to an indian res in new mexico, where we would be crashing on his friends couch. the trade was that we had to help move some sound equipment at a concert we were going to attend. sounded good to me, and the next thing i knew, i was meeting jimmy cliff! you know, the guy that sings "i can see clearly now, the rain is gone." then we went to a fiesta in sante fe's town square. it was an amazing expierence, and i gained a lot of new friends.
Interests
i love to read, play music, watch a cheesey horror movie with some friends, hiking, camping, just about anything that has to do with being outdoors. when i watch tv, its just for the science channels. astronomy has always fascinated me, up is usually the first place i look when i go outside at night. and i love new expierences. its what i live for. bring me an opportunity that i've never had and i'm there.

Music, Movies, and Books
movies? i like movies, but the book is usually way better. books? i love them all. i even find myself reading childrens books. anything that makes you want to learn, that helps you dream a little bigger, or fantasize something new. and music? every artist has something to say, sometimes it is just a matter of listening. i love all music, in all of its forms.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i think the most amazing thing i have ever witnessed was the comet that hit jupiter in the ninties. we were at the observitory at the university of denver and we got to see most of the impacts as they came into view. absolutely amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
i'm like a sponge. teach me, i'll soak up the knowledge and thirst for more. ask me about something, and if i know anything about the subject i'll teach you all i know, and i'll find a way that helps you understand it. i've lost count of how many people i've taught music to, and i'm always finding random classes to learn new things from. i've had so many different experiences that i probably have something to offer any situation i find myself in, be it nature or civilized. teach me shidoshi!
