Hey- I am Yara, I am traveling different places through work and traveling, volunteering mostly.
I have done 9 different volunteering projects in 6 different countries. Counting. I think I am addicted haha. I lived in the US for 1 year as an Aupair, and another year in Australia backpacking! I have worked on farms, construction, with kids, as a barista, in cafe’s, restaurants, driving tractors, with animals, gardening, in an a B and B etc. While traveling I always stay in Hostels or sometimes Airbnbs. I like that you always meet people and you‘ll never be alone, it feels more personal & each time you have a unique experience. I want to start using couchsurfing more now too, I keep forgetting that this is also a great way of meeting new people & getting to know a city. You get to see a city through the local‘s eyes, it gives you a different feeling for the city.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a quite wide range of music. Some hip hop, Indie, 80‘s, Abba lol, Shoegaze, Soul, Australian Indie/Rock Reggae, Country on Roadtrips, etc.
I love Thrillers and True Crime stuff and would pick that over Comedy or Romance any time. But I won‘t watch Horror. Ever.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to live in the US for 1 year 3 weeks after I turned 18 and this turned out to be my ticket into the world. I don‘t think I‘d be where I am, without this experience.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my volunteering experiences, I could probably fill a whole evening with that haha.
I would love to cook, it‘s one of my favorite things to do. I can teach you some german swear words- I heard that‘s what everyone wants to learn ;)
I can teach you words like ‚banana, more, berry, family & sausage‘ in american sign language- very important things to know :D
