ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm yaru, you can also call me Emma if you find yaru difficult to pronounce. I grow up in China, and studied English Literature as my bachelor degree in China. Then I came to the UK for my master. Now I'm doing a PhD in Warwick Business School.

I enjoy talking to people who are humorous and knowlegable. I would love to meet people from different cultures and share travelling experiences.

I can cook sushi and some Chinese dishes, would love to cook something for people who will come and stay with me and who I'm going to stay with.

PHILOSOPHY

There is a saying in Chinese "shi zhi dong yu, shou zhi sang yu". It mainly means that if you can't get something that you really want this time, don't be upset, you will get it or something else the other time. There is no need to be upset or unhappy about the current lose, it might be a blessing in disguise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do coffee, or a tour around Leamington, or a couch (maybe later).

I would also love to have a coffee or a tour of the ciy or a couch in other countries which I want visit in the next few years. The nearest trip is Prague, Munich etc. and I am trying to find people in Prague, Munich, and Bratislava who can provide me a couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used couchsurfing about two years ago (a bit busy the past two years, and haven't done any abroad travelling), really enjoyed the experience. I would definitely recommend couchsurfing to friends.

Interests

I am interested in travelling, getting to know other cultures, and history especially European and Chinese history. I enjoy watching TV series about famouse people in ancient times and reading stories about them.

My ultimate dream is to drive all over the world and see as much as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like reading books about inspiring and moving stories. And to be honest, I haven't read books for some times and really need to catch up with that.
I am a movie-lover, especially comedy, thriller, and sometimes chic flicks (when I'm with the girls)...so far my favorite movies "snatch", "Cinema Paradiso" etc. I also enjoy movies that can make you think, like "The Shawshank Redemption", "seven sins"...

I love alternative and country rock. Sometimes I prefer more loud music, like Lady Gaga, Micheal Jackson...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am quite glad that I came to the UK. But I am still expecting something more amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn basic conversational language skills of each country I go, and I'd love to teach people who want to learn Chinese.
