About Me
Hi, I am Yash :)
I grew up in India, in a lot of different cities and towns before settling in the beautiful valley city of Bengaluru. Completing my Bachelors in Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, I have now moved to Osnabrück in late 2024 for studying Cognitive Science. I mostly focus on Artificial Intelligence from a very theoretical standpoint, away from all the corporate madness that has taken over the field and plan on doing a PhD in emergent communication specifically. I am also really interested in natural intelligence, the masterpiece of evolutionary madness. We can have endless conversations on these topics.
I have not travelled a lot outside of India. In the summer of 2023, I was given the opportunity to work in a lab in Belgium, and I ended up hitchhiking all the way to Spain for my last leg of the time abroad. Lots of beautiful experiences from that trip inspire me to pack my bags and look at the world even more :) Which I hope to do so now that I am here in Europe for a longer time. I have also travelled to a lot of places in India, which is a country that is so vast geographically and culturally that I could spend years just going around. Such beautiful temples, festivals (talking about the religious ones, not the music one: though there is a lot of music all around for sure) and people. It is of course hard for me to talk about the political situation in India with the kind of government we have right now, but always open for a discussion :)
I love music. I play in a punk band in Osnabrück and am also learning some jazz drumming on my own on the side. I love how jazz musicians talk about improvisation and conversation through music. I believe that expressing yourself and learning more about yourself through meditations on the instrument is a lifelong journey. Which I am grateful to have embarked on.
I also love the artform of cinematography. I feel like I can express a lot of my ideas through film much better than I could ever with words. But like any language with words, it is a language to be learnt and be fluent in. I take my camera with me wherever I travel to capture these moments and then use them as a vocabulary to make something that conveys a message.
That is me: hoping to decorate the limited time I have on the planet with some beautiful experiences.
Deal with yourself like you are supposed to deal with the world, with empathy. Pardon your "mistakes", celebrate your goals. I hope you laugh, I hope you cry, dance, sing and let nothing inside. Have an average day on the beautiful planet :)

Teach, Learn, Share
All the things I talked about in my description above. If I am being hosted by you, I will try my best to bring some food/sides from India (if there is some left by the time I making that trip).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Physical help by helping around the house, I know it can get stressful sometimes. Mental help by just sharing a cup of coffee over some talk to ease your mind, for some people unfortunately this is very rare. In this ever isolating world, all we crave for is someone to just talk to.
