About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make as many great experiences as possible! And a few bad ones, too.

ABOUT ME

I like to read and write and listen to people who have experienced interesting things. I find it infuriating when people are condescending and patronizing. I'm not complicated to be around at all and very relaxed most of the time. I don't take myself too seriously which becomes apparent when I go out and dance like a lunatic because I'm just not good at it. I also don't drink alcohol or smoke :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Unfortunately, I am not able to host anybody since I'm living in a tiny flat with a flatmate and there is just no way to fit another person. I would love to host people, though, once I'm in a bigger place!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did some couchsurfing in Lancaster, PA, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Had a lovely time at the first two locations. SF was a tiny bit more difficult since the host and I had such different personalities. Still had a good time there, though.

Interests

Reading! As boring as it sounds it really shaped my childhood and has been one of my favourite activities ever since! I like to travel and meet new people and cultures. Also, once I get active I usually really enjoy it - love hiking and group sports!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is something I really, really enjoy! I'm so sad I never learned to play an instrument but i compensate by singing a lot. I'm terrible at it but enjoy it tremendously!
I don't just like one specific genre of music. Favourite bands of mine would be Twenty one pilots, who I've loved since I first got introduced to their music in 2013. I've also been a huge fan of Mumford and Sons since forever, although I have to say that I liked their first album a lot more than the second one and I have to admit that I never even got the third one. They are still the band that make up most of the songs in my Top25 on iTunes.
All time favourite songs, which I never get tired of listening to, would be Space Oddity by David Bowie, Wait (the original and the kygo remix acutally), and Midnight City by M83 and probably more I can't think of right now :)

For books I really can't choose a favourite! It changes with every new story I read. For a class I had to read "Utopia" by Thomas More for example and it inspired me so much because, although it was written in the 1500s, More had some really revolutionary ideas concerning the time he lived in. In general, I really do like dystopian/utopian novels (e.g. 1984, Brave new world, and Fahrenheit 451) and books that depict an alternate reality to ours. My guilty pleasure are easy-to-read romance novels and of course my childhood and adolescence was shaped by Harry Potter :P

A favourite movie of mine is definitely "Drive", not only because of the story but also because of the amaaaaaazing soundtrack! I have never been as impressed by the choice of music for a movie as I was when I watched Drive for the first time.
A movie I always get back to when I'm in a kind of heavy mood and want to think some darker thoughts is "Ginger and Rosa". I love the setting (1960s London) and that Ginger is a young poet who's incredibly worried about the state of the world (and the threat of nuclear holocaust). Also, Elle Fanning is amazing!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sleeping outside of a Hogan in Monument Valley. Listening to the sounds of the animals and looking at the stars :)
