About Me

CURRENT MISSION

meet people of all walks of life in New York City

ABOUT ME

This past year, I lived and worked in Latin America, which was the most incredible experience I could have asked for. I spent the first couple months living in Manta, Ecuador, where I worked for an NGO, lived in a totally insane house full of international interns and traveled pretty much every weekend that I was there (and yes, I went to the Galapagos!!) I moved to Buenos Aires after a while, where I worked (maybe an overstatement) and lived on and off until May, which is when I flew back to New York. I had an absolute blast in Buenos Aires with couchsurfers, both from the city itself and from all over the world. I loved couchsurfing and the community in BA so much I decided to travel for months in the rest of Argentina, Chile, and Brazil with couchsurfing, which was unforgettable. Seriously, it was the best year of my life thus far, and I have a lot of crazy stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I'm really interested in small events and going to quirky cultural events with CSers- that off-the-beaten track kind of stuff. It's definitely the best way to get to know a city in its truest colors.

Interests

Drawing, painting (oil, but I mostly draw now, turns out most of my roommates aren't big fans of the turpentine smell), traveling (definitely my #1, I live for it!), meeting new people who are different from me in some way, history (I majored in it), urban sociology (I find it interesting that people can try to explain what's going on in these crazy cities)

Music, Movies, and Books

Almodovar, Vonnegut, Catch-22, 1984, historical fiction, anything with Gael Garcia Bernal or Penelope Cruz, Andy Warhol quotes, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I love reading Lonely Planet travel guides..
